Dogs Have It All

Dogs make the perfect battle companion. Not only are they loyal and dependable, but they also have unique skills. A dog’s sense of smell is extraordinary. “Let’s suppose [a dog’s sense of smell is] just 10,000 times better [than a human’s sense of smell],” said James Walker, a scientist who has researched the canine sense of smell. “If you make the analogy to vision, what you and I can see at a third of a mile [0.5 km], a dog could see more than 3,000 miles [4,828 km] away and still see as well.” Another dog scientist said a dog can smell one rotten apple hidden in the middle of two million barrels of good apples.
